Resources The Persels Group Foundation Donates $50,000 to the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society
BALTIMORE, Maryland, -- the Persels Group Foundation, a committed supporter of the military, presented the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society with a $50,000 donation on December 18, 2009, as a way of saying thank you to our nation's service men and women. Persels Group Foundation, a non-profit group, funds evidence-based health innovations and research and educational programs that put into everyday practice programs that improve the lives of the men, women and veterans of the US military. The Persels Group Foundation's mission is to reduce their barriers to education and health care and to fund research for medical and educational advancements that would directly improve the lives of service men and women and veterans. From the Persels Group Foundation's roots as military families and work as business leaders they embrace new challenges in providing the best health care and education to those men and women who give so much to us. "The Persels Group Foundation has a commitment to supporting members of the U.S. Armed Forces," said Jimmy Persels, President & Executive Director, Persels Group Foundation, Inc. "I'm proud that this donation will help honor America's heroes and provide valuable resources to support military families." The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a nonprofit, charitable organization that provides financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, and their eligible family members and survivors, when in need. To do this, counseling, loans, grants, various services, and referral to other community resources are available. There are no fees for such help. The Society, operating in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, administers nearly 250 offices ashore and afloat at Navy and Marine Corps bases around the world. The Society's trained caseworkers are familiar with the special conditions of service life. They have a realistic understanding of the potential hardships facing service members and their families. "We are grateful for the support of the Persels Group Foundation,"said Steve Abbot, Admiral, USN (Ret.) CEO, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Inc. "Their generosity will help us support and serve service men and women around the world. It's a generous gift from a group of men and women that know what it means to serve their country." |
