Our Approach and Strategy for Giving
We know there are many opportunities for giving and needs in the United States and abroad. We choose to support the active US military, veterans and their families because while there are programs in place to support them additional resources are needed. We provide funding and leadership to local and national programs that support these brave men and women.
We set our grant making priorities on programs and research for medicine and education.
We have a six-step strategy for giving that helps us decide how to spend our time, efforts, and money so we can help as many people as possible. This process helps us choose the specific issues we work on and grant awardees.
We also recognize that this six step process has to be flexible to be successful. We are committed to reporting what we are learning at key stages during the grant making process and adjusting our strategy as necessary.
Our basic grant making process can be broken into six key stages:
- identifying the top educational and medical needs of US military, veterans and their families
- identifying and evaluating frontline organizations that can meet those needs
- making grants
- measuring progress
- publicizing results
- adjusting our strategy as necessary
